Life and Death

Life in Arua is not all easy and fun. Day after day I am told of a death in the local grocers family, or a death of the man you meet in the market, or the death of .... The list goes on and on and on, and I am troubled and heart broken. I feel like my feelings toward death are becoming hardened. I want to have compassion and give comfort, but to the nationals it seems like this is just part of life. It is so sad and causes one to have more urgency in sharing Christ with the people. May we never forget that life is fragile and short. Share Christ at all times.

  1. Hey Evan,

We are so sheltered here in the US from the truth about life and death. Most of us get to live out our lives and watch our children grow and have children of their own and we think nothing about the true blessing that it is to have the security that we do in the US. I have met several people from the Mid-East and have had them share of the constant threat of death or injury. I thank God for our security and the blessing of not having to worry about dying or being shot or having a bomb go off when were at the market, but I never forget that so many people in this world don't have that luxury and I pray for them often. Life is but a vapor that appears for a short time and then disappears, may I use this short time for God's glory and will. God Bless you brother and stay strong, we are all praying for you.
