Life in Africa

As I am adjusting to life in Africa the simple things in life that we take for granted seem to keep humbling me. On the seventh full day in Africa Friday the 22nd I needed to do some laundry. I asked where I could do this and was shown to the wash area. This was simply a double sink and there was not a way to stop the drains up. I washed my clothes and hung them up to dry, and I hope that tomorrow will be a sunny hot day so they will all dry. Today was the first day that it has not rained on us. On a better note our group was blessed to meet another group of Christians staying in the resort. They are from all over the states, England, and one girl from South Africa. They are so much fun to hang out with and learn about different cultures.
I am ready to start the journey in Uganda, but I have enjoyed my time here in South Africa.

  2. Thanks for the update Evan, what a great way God used you in the life of those two men, I will keep them in my prayers as well as you, it's great to hear that your training is hands on and is almost complete so that you can move on to your ultimate destination, God Bless Brother!

  3. Hi Evan! We were so blessed to have read your posts. Brad got a grin out of the laundry story! We were both moved @ the poverty & tin flashing homes. I tried to imagine sitting in such a humble home with the rain pouring in. I can only relate to the discomfort by how cold it is here today..even with the thermostat set @ 62, the house exterior walls are very cold & I can't seem to get warm. In spite of that, I am very aware that we are much more fortunate than SO many people. It is truly a blessing that you bring your experience to us...that we may learn to be even forgiving & tolerant of those whose lives we don't understand. Much love.....
